There's a problem with the current version of X-Lite so it might not work properly with Broadband Phone. We recommend using SJPhone instead.

Before you can make calls from your computer with Broadband Phone you'll need to download, install and configure suitable software. This guide will help you configure X-Lite.

This software works like a telephone and allows you to make calls from your desktop.

1. Setting up X-Lite

This step-by-step guide explains how to setup X-Lite.

  1. Download the X-Lite software from the Xten download site and install it.

  2. Run X-lite, right click on the phone and select SIP Account Settings.

    Right click on the phone and select SIP Account Settings
  3. Click the Add button on the right side of the popup window.

    Click Add...
  4. Enter your name in the Display Name box.

  5. Enter your SIP ID in the Username box (if you're not sure what this is, check the Broadband Phone Control Panel or the email you received after activating Broadband Phone).

  6. Enter your SIP password in the Password box (If you ever change your SIP password, you'll need to update it here).

  7. Enter your SIP ID in the Authorization Username box (it's the same as the username entered in step 5).

  8. Enter sip.plus.net in the Domain/Realm box.

  9. Ensure Register with domain and receive incoming calls is ticked.

  10. Select Proxy and enter: sip.plus.net.

  11. Click the Apply button and then click OK.

    Enter your settings and click Apply
  12. X-Lite will now automatically connect.

2. Setting up X-Lite with a firewall

Follow these steps if you are behind a NAT enabled firewall:

  1. Right click on the X-Lite phone.

  2. Click SIP Account Settings.

  3. Double-click on the account you use to connect with.

  4. Click the Topology tab in the new popup window.

  5. Tick Use specified server and enter stun.xten.net in its box.

  6. Tick Manually specify range and enter 5060 - 5061.

  7. Select Automatic from the dropdown menu for Use XTunnels.

  8. Click the Apply button and then click OK.

Connecting via specified STUN server

These are the settings you should use if you are using a specific STUN server, as described above.

You'll need to enter these settings if you want to use a STUN server

Connecting automatically (Discover server)

If you want to use the 'Discover server' feature, use these settings instead.

You'll need to enter these settings on the Topology tab if you want to use the Discover Server feature
